The Council of Ministers approved action to build units 7 and 8 of Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant with AP 1000 technology

The Council of Ministers approved a report by the Minister of Energy on action to build units 7 and 8 of Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant with AP 1000 technology. The Council of Ministers agreed to the construction of Unit 8 of Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant and ordered that the necessary procedures and documentation be prepared. With regard to the construction of Unit 7, the Council of Ministers instructs the Minister of Energy to organize the necessary procedures on the selection of a contractor that will provide complex design, construction and commissioning services. The final contract with the successful contractor and the supplier of AP 1000 technology must be drawn up at a fixed price and terms of implementation.

06.12.2023 / A conference for experience and good practices exchange in the area of energy management between Bulgaria and Norway was held in Sofia

Representatives of companies from Bulgaria and Norway exchanged experiences and good practices in the area of energy management during a conference held in Sofia. The event was organized in the framework of the implementation of a project on energy efficiency of industrial processes under the Renewable Energy, Energy efficiency, Energy Security Programme (REEEES), supported by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic area 2014-2021.

Deputy Energy Minister Iva Petrova participated via videoconference in the 7th Southeast Europe Energy Forum in the panel “Еnergy cooperation in the Southeast Europe and Eastern Mediterranean region: a turn point for the EU’s energy security”. Participants in the panel were also the Greek Environment and Energy Minister Theodoros Skilakakis and Deputy Economy Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Getoar Mjeku.
