REPORTS OF "PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS BULGARIA" EOOD AND THE WORLD BANK IN CONNECTION WITH THE TERRITORIAL PLANS FOR JUST TRANSITION

These reports are products of technical assistance projects implemented in the period 2020-2022 by "PricewaterhouseCoopers Bulgaria" EOOD and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank). They contain information, analysis and results of discussions with a wide range of stakeholders, which aim to inform the development of territorial plans for just transition. The analyzes presented in the reports do not reflect and do not represent an official position of the Ministry of Energy, nor commitments or agreements with the European Commission.

On November 18, 2020, a contract was signed between the European Commission and "PricewaterhouseCoopers Bulgaria" EOOD for consulting services "Technical assistance for the preparation of territorial plans for a just transition in Bulgaria". The project is financed by the General Directorate "Reforms" of the European Commission and covers the preparation of territorial plans for a just transition for three areas (Stara Zagora, Kyustendil and Pernik), as well as the assessment of additional territories, including Haskovo, Sliven and Yambol regions.

On September 30, 2020, an Agreement on the provision of consulting services was signed between the Ministry of Energy and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank) for technical assistance in the preparation of territorial plans for a just transition in eight energy-intensive regions - Haskovo, Sliven, Yambol, Varna, Burgas, Lovech, Gabrovo and Targovishte. The law on the ratification of the Agreement was adopted by the National Assembly on December 9, 2020, and the same is in force from February 5, 2021. The funds for the consultant's remuneration were provided by the Operational Program "Good Governance".
