The open dialogue and good cooperation with the professional community are the working mechanism for the formulation and assertion of ideas and policies. That was stated by the Minister of Energy Temenuzhka  Petkova at the first meeting of the Branch Council for Tripartite Cooperation within the mandate of this government. The meeting held in the Ministry of Energy was attended by the Deputy Minister of Energy Anton Pavlov, representatives of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of the minors, the Confederation of Labour Podkrepa, Miners' Federation at Podkrepa, as well as the  public and private energy companies in the country. According to Minister Petkova, a similar format, including the participation of all stakeholders, is the best way to discuss and to take decisions related to the recovery the status of the energy sector.

The meeting discussed the need for ensuring new funds in the energy system as well as solving the problem of the indebtedness of companies in the sector. According to Minister Petkova, a number of wrong decisions have been taken in the Bulgarian energy sector over the years, which resulted in accumulation of deficits in the sector. "We will make a comprehensive audit in order to overcome the financial gap in the sector", Temenuzhka Petkova explicitly stated. According to the Minister, urgent reforms to resolve the imbalance in the system will be implemented, as soon as the status of national energy has become clear.

The financial and economic status of coal-mining enterprises was discussed within the Branch Council for Tripartite Cooperation. Measures to achieve a proper operation of Mines Maritza East and Black Sea Mines, Bourgas and to ensure prompt payment of salaries at the coal-mining companies were proposed as well.

The Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova expressed  confidence for the future work of the Branch Council and said she would rely on  the open dialogue in decision-making to stabilize the energy sector.
