“The selection of a clearing house experienced in providing services to EU natural gas markets is key to the development of Balkan Gas Hub EAD as an organised stock market in the Central and Southeast European region. Cooperation with the leading Hungarian clearing house KELLER CCP will also have great added value in the implementation of regional physical and market infrastructure projects. Including the realization of the strategic initiative for the Vertical Gas Corridor, which will guarantee energy security in the region of South-Eastern Europe". That is what Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov said during the signing of an agreement to provide clearing services between Balkan Gas Hub and the Hungarian clearing house KELLER CCP. The event was attended by the Ambassador of Hungary to Bulgaria H.E. Miklós Boros, the Executive Director of Bulgartransgaz EAD Kiril Ravnachki and the Executive Director of Balkan Gas Hub Petya Ivanova.

According to Minister Malinov, the joint project on the implementation of clearing and settlement services for the Bulgarian market will contribute to improving the functioning of the regional gas market and minimizing the risks for market participants. “The signing follows the successful participation of KELLER CCP in the public and transparent procedure announced by Balkan Gas Hub EAD for selecting a clearing service provider for the BGH market,” he underlined as well. Given the proven experience of KELLER CCP and the direct connectivity of the gas markets of Hungary and Bulgaria, GHB market members will be able to participate on simplified terms in the markets of Bulgaria, Hungary and other countries of the region.
