A conference for experience and good practices exchange in the area of energy management between Bulgaria and Norway was held in Sofia
Representatives of companies from Bulgaria and Norway exchanged experiences and good practices in the area of energy management during a conference held in Sofia. The event was organized in the framework of the implementation of a project on energy efficiency of industrial processes under the Renewable Energy, Energy efficiency, Energy Security Programme (REEEES), supported by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic area 2014-2021.
The Programme Operator is the Ministry of Energy and the objective of the project is to achieve energy independence by purchasing new equipment, monitoring consumption and increasing energy management capacity.
Representatives of the company for the development and production of polishing, industrial tools “DKV-D” OOD-Silistra and the company for the production of dental equipment “VOP” OOD-Botevgrad took part in the event on the Bulgarian side. The company for metalworking, repair and trade in metalworking machines and tools "Sibon-mash" OOD - Kazanlak and the company for casting aluminum parts under high pressure "Laki 131" OOD - Plovdiv were also among the participants, as well as representatives of the partner organization from Norway – IDN Research.
The event highlighted the problems and challenges of energy efficiency related to the industrial process and small and medium-sized enterprises. All parties expressed their joint opinion that energy efficiency is a major focus of the Green Deal for Europe and plays a key role in achieving the objectives of climate neutrality and circular economy.
The focus was put on the transition to a sustainable and climate neutral economy, which, according to the participants, requires significant investment across Europe, but also exchanges of good practice between countries and other stakeholders. These include regional and public authorities, as well as social and economic partners such as SMEs and NGOs.
The conference, which laid the basis for knowledge sharing between various companies from Bulgaria and Norway, also highlighted the excellent bilateral relations, which are a prerequisite for developing the cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
