Deputy Energy Minister

Elenko Bozhkov was born on 3 July 1953 in Kyustendil. In 1971, he completed his secondary education at the 22ndUnified Secondary Polytechnic School "Georgi S. Rakovski" in Sofia. In 1977, Mr. Bozhkov graduated from the Technical University in Sofia with a degree in Electrical Engineering- Automation of Energy Systems.

In the period 1977-1980, Elenko Bozhkov worked as a commissioning engineer in the "Commissioning Management" at “Montagi” EAD. In 1981-1989 he was a research assistant and head of a section at NTRI "Techenergo". In the period 1990–1991, he was a member of the 7th Grand National Assembly and Deputy Chairman of the Energy Committee.

From 1993 to 1996, Mr. Bozhkov was a member of the Board of Directors of NEK. From 1995 to 1997, he was the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy. In the period 2002-2003, Elenko Bozhkov was the executive director of "Energoproekt". From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Bozhkov headed "Rehabilitation of Units 1-4 in TPP "Maritsa-Iztok 3" Project to "Energoremont - Galabovo". In the period 2006-2010, he was a member of the Supervisory Board of "Enel - Maritsa- East 3" and in 2013 - 2014 a member of the State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission.

Elenko Bozhkov is married, has a son and a daughter, and grandchildren.
