The situation in Galabovo is slowly turning back to normal

The power supply is expected to be recovered this evening

The Minister of energy Temenuzhka Petkova and the Executive Director of the state coal-mining company "Mini Maritsa-east", Andon Andonov, have visited one of the most flood-affected towns – Galabovo.

Unwatering of Galabovo substation, which provides the power supply to the town and a few regions, continues, Minister Petkova assured.

With regard to the dire situation on the territory of Galabovo municipality, and as a result of the hard work of the town’s Crisis Staff, the management of "Mini Maritsa-east" EAD reacted immediately with equipment and reconstruction of their own power lines in order to provide power supply for the villages in the municipality left without electricity.

People are ensured and loaders, bulldozers and rubble are provided as well, in order to build the circular embankment. All the people engaged in building of the embankment are expected to work round-the-clock in order to provide the possibility of pumping out the water and drying the equipment as soon as possible. Additional difficulties are expected tonight as a result of the rains resumed during the past hour.

А reconstruction of a power line from a substation in "Troyanovo-3" mine belonging to "Mini Maritsa-east" EAD will provide the possibility of power supply to the villages left without electricity during the last two days and to a part of the town of Galabovo.

Today, throughout the day, the specialists of the mining company have worked on the reconstruction of power line through which a connection to a power line owned by EVN will be realized. The aim is to provide a second power supply, which can solve the problem with the power supply of affected villages in the municipality of Galabovo. On the part of "Mini Maritsa Iztok" EAD, all necessary actions to link both power lines were completed by 19:30. Electricity is expected to be supplied tonight.

The situation in Vidin region is still severe. The Deputy Minister of Energy Anton Pavlov met representatives of ESO, CEZ and the State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, which are in site and monitor the situation constantly. Pavlov stated that the teams have been working in perfect coordination and the power supply will be restored to the maximum number of settlements by the end of the evening. Equipment from NPP "Kozloduy" was sent, and tomorrow it will continue to assist in the repair of the main damage on the "Rocks" transmission line.
